I love the way this is switched on by the lid. No wall switch to use with dirty wet hands. It is so quiet that during installation we were not even sure if it was running properly. It was very easy to install.

We just installed this insinkerator and it is great. We did not have the space for a wall swich to activate it, so the cover control is great. It is so quiet you dont even know it is on. But all the food waste is gone when you look.

I would definitely recommend this to others. I used to have an older one that lasted 14 years and they have made many imporovements here.

Remember, you will get what you pay for, so the ones for under $150, take your chances.

The only difficulty I had installing this product was with the length of the sleeve on the sink flange. It was difficult to install the C clamp with the sleeve being so short. They make a longer one but it was not included in the kit. (This was noted in the installation instructions inside the box) I called the company and they offered to ship me one at no charge. It arrived some days later. But, in the interim, I was able to get it installed using the included flange although there was barely enough clearance to install the control magnetic sensor unit. They really should add the longer flange to the kit or at least advertise that the longer flange might be needed on some thicker bottomed sinks.

That issue aside, the unit works great. It’s quiet and effective. I highly recommend this product.

I’m impressed at the obvious build quality of the cover control model. It replaced an 18 year old Insinkerator cover control model that suddenly wouldn’t turn off and became a shock hazard. This Evolution model snapped right into the old mount (real time-saver) and took about 2 hours to complete including minor plumbing changes. This is my 5th disposal install over the years and was the simplest. It’s expensive, but cheaper at Amazon.com than some other online retailers I looked at.

Our previous 3/4 hp In-Sink-Erator finally wore out after 20 years of service. We loved the cover-control on the old model, and I was shocked to find that it’s such a rare feature. This high-end unit had it, and I wouldn’t have been nearly as happy with wall-switch versions, which we’ve had in the past. The cover control means you never have to worry about you (or a guest) turning on the disposer when intending to turn on a light. No worries about using an electrical switch with wet hands. Kids are less likely to overload the unit by force-feeding, because the cover is in place when the unit is turned on.

I had never installed a sink disposer before, but I had installed our dishwasher and done similar tasks around the house. Instructions were clear, and I did the whole thing in a couple of hours replacing everything including the drain flange (included with the disposer).

This unit is whisper-quiet, and the 3/4 hp motor never breaks a sweat.

As I said in the title, this one’s pretty expensive, but our previous one lasted 20 years and this one seems even sturdier.

May 2010: I am reminded to comment by my mother who just visited to take care of our kids during a trip; on our return, she actually commented on this disposer saying it was among quietest she’s used. We constantly feed it eggshells, coffee grounds, asparagus stalks, etc. No maintenance has been necessary.

The hood works fine. When installing the hood we found that parts were not in the box that were listed in the parts list. Had to go out and buy them before the hood could be install. This was not Amazon problem, it was Broan. they need to be more careful of what they put in there product box.

Purchased this range hood for non-ducted installation. I paid 270 dollars for the hood and 20 dollars for the charcoal filter (you will have to buy lamps and filters separately) at amazon.com. In last one month we have been using it and are very satisfied with it.

I was aware of the quality and efficiency of the broan products and I was set,biassed that way,when it came to the range hood.
Excellent product it does what’s supposed to do efficiently and most of all “silently”.

I would highly recommend such product to friends.

Easy to install , good lighting, quiet on low and medium. Good looks and value.

This hood has great controls for both the fan speed and the hood lights. On the slowest speed the fan still draws the air from the range, but it is almost silent. Even at its highest speed, it is less noisy than the cheapo unit it replaced. The 3 levels of light are a great addition to the kitchen mood control.
